Phil-LiDAR 2 is a nationwide program which aims to map the natural resources of the country. It is participated by 15 higher education institutions all through out the country. Phil-LiDAR 2 is a DOST-directed and -funded research initiative.

Particularly, the Program aims to produce detailed resource maps using LiDAR for various applications:

– production of high value crops

– irrigation assessment

– aquaculture production

– forest protection

– discovery of renewable energy sources

Phil-LiDAR 2 is composed of two programs which aims to collect, collate, and process LiDAR data from different regions of the country; (a) Program 1. Automation of Feature Extraction from LIDAR Data for the Nationwide Detailed Resources Assessment and; (b) Program 2. LIDAR Data Processing, Modeling and Validation for Nationwide Resources Assessment

Phil-LiDAR 2 is participated by 15 higher education institutions nationwide:

Phil-LiDAR 2 is a directed research program funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and monitored by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD).
